Sustainability at Hooked on Waves

The ocean inspires everything we create. Protecting it is not an afterthought, it’s built into how we design and produce.

Hooked on Waves prioritizes thoughtful materials, small-batch production, and intentional packaging choices to reduce our environmental footprint.

♻ Recycled Performance Fabrics

Our Coral Current swimwear and Rose Tide flow wear is made using Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certified recycled nylon.

Fabric Composition:
• 82% GRS-certified recycled pre-consumer polyamide (nylon)
• 18% elastane for stretch and durability

The recycled nylon is regenerated from pre-consumer manufacturing waste — reducing the need for virgin petroleum-based fibers and diverting textile waste from landfill.

Why Recycled Matters

By choosing recycled fibers, we aim to:
• Reduce reliance on virgin plastic production
• Support verified recycled supply chains
• Lower overall material waste in textile manufacturing

Our fabric supplier is certified under the Global Recycled Standard (GRS), which verifies recycled content and responsible processing standards.

Our fabrics are soft, breathable, durable, and designed to move with you — while minimizing environmental impact.

Intentional Small-Batch Production

We do not overproduce.

Preorders allow us to manufacture only what is needed, minimizing excess inventory and reducing textile waste.

Creating intentionally is one of the most effective ways to lower fashion’s environmental impact.

Impact-Driven Packaging

We use POLLAST!C Mailers, world-first packaging made from 100% recycled Ocean Bound Plastic pollution (excluding seals, inks, and colorants).

Each mailer includes a traceable tracking system that identifies the source of the collected plastic.

By choosing this packaging, Hooked on Waves supports:

• Removal of plastic pollution from coastal environments
• Collection efforts in Southeast Asian communities
• Economic opportunities for waste collectors
• Prevention of ocean-bound plastic entering marine ecosystems

An estimated 8–12 million tons of plastic enter our oceans each year. By sourcing packaging made from recovered coastal plastic, we help support systems that intercept pollution before it reaches the sea.

This approach allows us to reduce environmental impact while contributing to responsible waste recovery initiatives.

How Your Purchase Helps

We keep giving simple, transparent, and meaningful.

5% of total annual revenue is donated to ocean conservation.

At the end of each calendar year, we calculate total sales and donate 5% to a selected ocean-focused nonprofit organization.

Donations are made once per year and publicly shared for full transparency.

You shop with purpose.
We give with accountability.
The ocean benefits from both.
